First a visit to Cornwall England, where for one of our outings we explored the ruins of Tintagle Castle.
Amazing views, with lots and lots of climbing. This was a wonderful learning experience, lol, (I'm not as young as I once was) as I hobbled about for the next week!
And now a heads up for anyone travelling to Europe. We found out the hard way, that you can fill your gas tank with the wrong fuel! The nozzles are not always put back in the correct slot, so you may think you are filling with diesel, but........ not so funny!
Next we moved on to Kent, on the east coast, where we took in Dover Castle and Canterbury and its beautiful cathedral.
In addition, we met up with a wonderful couple from Surrey, one of my blogging friends...Brenda from Bumblebees and Butterflies, and her husband. We had a lovely evening with good food and lots to say, and a first for me...actually meeting someone I had met on the web. The hubbies got along well too, and I really think they were more gabby than we were! We had our picture taken too, so here you go...
Next stop...Paris, but first a new suitcase as we broke a wheel on the cobblestones...why not, eh? Took the Eurostar, and no problems there.
Paris was amazing....so much to see and do! (the shops, the food, the wine.....lol) We managed pretty well with my little bit of French, and their little bit of English, but there was a funny happening that had us in stitches. Do not try to wedge 2 people and all your luggage in an elevator meant for 3 people! We got squeezed in okay for the doors to close, but......it took a while for us to get out. Didn't help that we couldn't stop laughing! We have so many pictures, but here's a couple you won't have seen before (haha).
We had another chuckle upon our return home.....we missed the dandelion blooms! (lol) Because of all the rain, the grass/weeds are nearly 2 feet high in places. Now we need some sunshine to dry it all out. I think I know how we'll be keeping busy! I guess I need to get crafting before the sun shines!

Lovely photos! What a great trip for you!!
ReplyDeleteLove the post Joyce and hearing more of your trip - it was quite eventful all in all. So pleased we managed to meet up and have some time together. You are a great lady and so easy to talk to - in fact I felt we had known each other for years. Yep the hubbies did chat alot too didn't they?
ReplyDeleteGood luck with all the gardening.
