Romantic.....

Hi there....hope you are all doing well this fine Saturday morning!  January is nearly done with, and did you notice...the days are starting to get longer?!  Not necessarily brighter, but at least it isn't dark until 5 oclock anyways.  I don't drive at night anymore, so it definitely makes a difference to me.

Today at Stämpelkällan we are showcasing stamps for this week's project...... a Romantic Dinner Setting.  My time was a bit limited, but I still had a couple of napkins to dress up, sooooo..... here I've played with this pretty little stamp (GS5) on fabric.  This is much easier to do than you might think.  The secret is to be very light when applying your copics, barely touching the fabric.  Make sure you wash the fabric first, and then heat set your colours with an iron when done.

I've quite enjoyed colouring on fabric (see my previous post here)....now I just need to find more items to colour.   Now, f you'd like to see some more romantic valentine ideas, have yourself a look at the rest of the team's creations, where you are sure to be inspired.  Happy crafting!

Embossed Leaves

Good morning everyone.  I know I've been MIA lately, but I have a post today and one for tomorrow also!  My poor hubby has definitely been put through the wringer this month, and of course that means I've been busy looking after him.  With any luck, the doctors will have some news for us shortly.....and hopefully it is good!

Today is the new Stamp of the Week at Stämpelkällan, and this week it is this lovely Leaf Stamp (A53a).  Be sure to head on over and leave a comment, for your chance to win this stamp....it makes for a great embellishment!

You'll notice I've heat embossed the leaves with gold embossing powder, then coloured them up with the new Tim Holtz distress stains.  Now that was easy!  After cutting them out, I've popped them up with some tiny foam tabs.

I've played along with one of this week's lovely sketches at Tip Top Tuesday, which I think worked out quite well!  After making the leaves, I was undecided as to what I wanted to do with them.  So, thank you Tip Top!

All of the gold pieces, including the sentiment.....are peel off stickers, which I purchased last year while on holiday.  A bit of doodling and DI around the edges to finish it all off.

Did you see what I saw.....

Welcome!  'Tis the weekend, and nothing drastic happened this week.....so it's looking good.  Hope all is well with you, and you are managing to avoid all the colds and sniffles that go along with the winter weather.

I'm not sure if this card is late for Christmas, or maybe just early for next year, but I did want to have a go with this Christmas image from Just Inklined.  It is called Santa's Flight, and I've coloured with copics, edged with DI, and given the snow lots of sparkle with glamour dust.

I played along with Gry's sketch from Sunday Sketch & Stamp, although I've twisted it around a bit to suit my purpose.

All the supplies are from my stash, and I made use of a Nestie die to mat the image and a MS punch for the icicle border.

I still have some Christmas images to colour, so I'm sure there will be more such cards to come.  I may even be ready for the season.....it's really only eleven months away.....

Some challenges I'll enter:

Sunday Sketch & Stamp - #89 Gry's Sketch
ABC Christmas Challenge - A is for Anything Christmas

Clean and Simple at Charisma Cardz

Good morning everyone!  So glad the theme this week at Charisma Cardz is Clean and Simple, or I would never have been ready in time.  My DH is now home after 6 days in the hospital, so my free time is rather limited for the moment.   Although I find crafting to be a perfect relaxation outlet, some worries just can`t be coloured away.

Today`s challenge is being sponsored by Stamp Fairy, and this is one of the images that they so kindly provided.  This cuddly little number is coloured with copics and a bit of prisma shading.

For the card design, I`ve followed this sketch at Card Patterns.  The DP is an older line from My Mind`s Eye, and the card blank in behind has been sponged in with DI.

I found some paper lace ribbon in my stash, and some little sticker circles that I'd forgotten I even had!  Other than that, just a bit of liquid pearls.

Hope to see your entry this week, and be sure to check out the rest of the team`s entries for your inspiration.  Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday at Charisma Cardz

Time to Celebrate.....it is Charisma Cardz 3rd birthday!   This week our theme is Happy Birthday, and just wait until you see all the lovely creations from the DT....both teams!  Be sure to check out the challenge and all the lovely prizes from our generous sponsors.....and then get crafting!  Looking forward to seeing what you can all create!

This week I've played with an image from one of our sponsors, Meljen's Designs, and it's so aptly called Little Bo Peep.  I liked the idea of the 3 little sheep to go along with our 3rd birthday!  After colouring with copics, I've cut it out with my Nestie die and then edged it with DI.

Now, I've given a sketch a try this time.......I don't do them too often, as I'm not the best at following directions (ha ha!), but this one captured my interest.

For the circular elements I have used a stencil and distress ink, with a little perfect pearls added for a bit of shine.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Picadilly collection....some of the goodies I received for Christmas.  I've kept it all nice and simple, letting the image and papers speak for themselves.

Thanks again for visiting, and your lovely comments are most appreciated.  Once again, my DH is back in hospital, but he's coming along and should be home soon.  He was actually a bit grumpy today.....and we know that is always a good sign! (lol)

GDT Post for Stämpelkällan

Good morning all!  Doesn't time fly.....it's already time for my second GDT submission, and the stamp I'm using is actually available to all of you as a free digi for the month of January, in the side bar on the Stämpelkällan blog!  This was actually my first introduction to their wonderful stamps, when I won it for leaving a comment on their Friday posting.  I think it could be used for so many occasions, but today I've made a birthday card.

I really enjoy making this card design with it's fancy folds, and I've even managed to add some dimensional flowers....something I'm not all that comfortable with.  I do think they've worked well here, especially with this new pretty striped floral paper from Echo Park.  The image worked up easily with copics, and after cutting it out with my Nestie die I've given the edge some stickles.  The sentiment is also from Stämpelkällan and can be found here, along with a number of other versatile text stamps.

I'd also like to mention that there's a GDT call going on at the moment for the period of March through May.  If you would like the chance to work with some of their delightful stamps be sure to check it out here.

Something New

Good day to you all, and thankfully it is a good day here also!  My hubby came home from the hospital Saturday, and now we are just trying to get back to normal....whatever that is!

It's always nice to get something new, and this time I've used a new Edgebilities Classic Petal die that I received for Christmas.  The image is from Little Miss Muffet stamps, and once again I've done it up with copics and prisma pencils.  A Nellie Snellen die provides some interest to the large sentiment, while a circle die was used to cut around part of the image.  The ribbon was actually white, and I gave it some colour with my copic marker so that it blends with my card.  Just a few gems to give it some sparkle, and it's ready to go!

A Fabric Project

Well, it has been another wild week with my DH back in the hospital again, (hopefully home today!), so thankfully I had my Stämpelkällan project made up in advance.

Today we are working with fabric, and this is definitely a new technique for me.  My mom gave me these linen napkins a number of years ago, and I bravely stamped them with this pretty Flower Corner (S14) and carefully coloured them with copic markers.  I'm very pleased with the result, so I'll be trying it again soon with another stamp.

If you are interested in giving this technique a try, be sure to check out the rest of my team's projects here.  Just remember to wash your fabric first to remove the sizing, and then heat set with your iron when finished.  Work lightly with your markers, as it will bleed outside the lines if you apply too much.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit, and maybe I've given you a nudge to try something new!

Simply the Best

Good morning everyone!  Today there's a new stamp of the week at Stämpelkällan, and wouldn't it make the perfect card for a teacher or someone who really loves to read?  Be sure to head on over to check out all the other DT projects, and leave a comment for your chance to win it!

You will note that I've cut it out with the ornate Fleur de Lis Nestie die, but otherwise the card is fairly simple.  I've used up some of my scraps for the different layers, giving some fancy edges and then adding distress inks and faux stitching.  Two more Stämpelkällan stamps have been added to the mix.....the sentiment (T86) and the lovely corner flourish (A32).  And to finish it off....a couple of bits of card candy and a piece of ribbon.

Thanks so much for visiting, and enjoy your day!
