Bunny in a Box

This card was created with inspirational help from a number of great challenges. The digi image was a free image from Delicious Doodles, one of the groups taking part in the Free Digi Kick Off Challenge over at CDAC. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to check it out.

I used the sketch provided by KL Stampin N Scrappin for their current challenge (#36).

Basic Grey paper, layered over pink card stock makes up the background layers, while a complementary paper, also from Basic Grey is used for the flower and flourishes. These I cut out on my Silhouette.

A green shimmery ribbon, woven through the circular mat and tied in a bow, provides a little extra detail for the gift wrapped bunny, and extra dimension is achieved with the use of pop-dots.

B is for Birthday....

This is a birthday card, using a cutting template and sentiment from the Cutting Cafe. A nice change from the traditional card! The "Beary Big Gift" digi image was free this week from Designed2Delight as part of their monthly relay. Be sure to check out their site, so that you can be ready for the next challenge in July.

I'm thinking of a young (boy) child in creating this card, and how they point out and identify pictures. I have added bees and bugs and butterflies to encourage this activity. The bright colours should definitely appeal, and the faux stitching adds that little bit more.

Other challenges entered:
..Paper Sundaes - #24 Birthday Card
...Polka Doodle - #25 Boy's Birthday
....Crafts and Me - #7 Birthdays
.....Incy Wincy Designs - #48 Things with Wings
......Paper Take Weekly - #44 In Stitches

Birthday Tag in Red, White and Blue

This is my first submission of a tag, a requirement for the current challenge at Karens Doodles (UK). I have used their Bigsby Juggling digi image, once available as a freebie, but now available in their store. I coloured the image with water colours, then added glossy accents, faux stitching and glitter pen for detail. The tag was very quickly completed using a polka-dot stamp, a red marker, some distress ink for the edges and a bit of ribbon. The image works well with the red/white/blue themes which are very popular right now....
Other challenges entered:
..Meljen's Designs - #19 Bookmarks and/or Tags
...Hidden Treasures - #5 Ribbon

Shower Time

This Rainy Day image, a prior free digi image from *Wink*Wink Ink, definitely reflects the weather that we have had this weekend! Painted with water colours, and using various punches, I am submitting this card for their Recipe Challenge #3. The scalloped circle behind the image is my attempt to represent the colours of the sky after a storm....

The Challenge #41 Sketch combo from Stampin'for the Weekend provided helpful inspiration, and and my choice of DP and ribbon worked into their blue and yellow colour scheme.

The stamped butterflies hopefully lend an air of spring, as well as the punched plants I have added to the main image.

Other challenges entered:

...Hidden Treasures - #5 Ribbon
....Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge - #38 Lets Go Digital

Just the Right Note

This is now week 3 of the relay challange at Designed2Delight, where each week that you participate you receive a free digi image for the next week.
This card has a simple line with earthy colours, therefore not gender specific. The edges are inked with brown and navy, and faux stitching has been added for some detail. The patterned mat had to be sanded in order for the colour to adhere. A few brads add some pop to the tag and stamped background. The image was coloured with watercolour pencils and I did have to add a couple of musical notes to the image, as I had cut some off.

Additional challenges entered:
..KLSNS weekly challenge - #35 Let's Get Shabby
...Digi Doodle Shop - #13 Anything Goes

Inside Out - Summertime

Summertime...playing at the beach in the sand...it takes me back to simpler times!
This image, Little Joey, was provided by Trees aWard in Digital Stamps, for Challenge #9 at I Did It Creations. This was an open challenge, just requiring that we be creative.

I found some old seascape paper in my stash, and used it to follow along with the sketch challenge at Pixie Cottage.

As we were also required to complete the inside of the card, I used the same paper, adding a shell stamp and dragonfly for embellishment.

The sentiment can be found as a current freebie at Nana Vic's group at CDAC.

Lovey Doves

This card is for my nephew's wedding, and I used the free Stamp-n-Doodle image offered for their current challenge, Lavender and Lace. Rather than actual lace, I cut a lacy mat for the image, and paper pierced a lacy pattern in the corners of the lavender paper. The image and the lacy mat are both attached with pop-dots, while the ribbon and gems give further dimension. Most of the image was painted using water colour pencils, but the red roses were coloured using Tombow markers.

...Charisma Cardz - #24 All About Bling
....A Spoon Full of Sugar - #109 Good Luck/Best Wishes

Fairy Knoll Sketch

This is a busy little number with a lot of pink! I made it for the sketch challenge at Fairy Knoll, using one of their freebie images. The card itself is stamped with black flourishes. The frame for the image is cut on my Silhouette, then stamped and inked. If you look closely, you will see a fine bead of stickles glitter along the edge.

Celebration

Good morning everyone! It looks like a grand day to celebrate, the sun is shining and there is a lovely breeze. This card is for the Designed2Delight’s Stamp of the Month Artist’s Challenge. This is a relay type of challenge and for further details be sure to check out their site. If you notice the music paper layers, the card is also entered into a challenge with a music theme, for a song called Celebration.

Dreams

This card uses the Crissy's Prom image from Sassy Studio Designs. It lends itself well to their current Challenge #24 which requires the use of ribbons. This time around, I painted with distress inks which allowed me to use the same shade for other elements on the card. The frame for the image was cut on my Silhouette, then embossed and inked. The sentiment was created in Photo Shop, then cut out and trimmed with glitter. Using black ink, I stamped the background paper with a flourish or two to give it some excitement.

Other challenge entries:
..Crafty Catz #36 Embossing
...Simon Says - A Recipe Challenge
....Charisma Cards #23 Spots & Stripes
.....Whoopsi Daisy Challenge Ribbons and Bows

Remember When

This image of an old pickup truck was offered as a freebie this week at the DZ Doodles Group over at PCP. The card will be for my Father-in-law, who celebrates the grand age of 86 this June! I am sure he will remember!

I used Tombow markers for the bold bright red of the truck, knowing that I had to refrain from using the bows and flowers that normally adorn my cards. The card itself was stamped and inked, while the layered mat was also dry embossed and distressed, in order to create a masculine concept.

Other challenges entered:
..One Stitch at a Time #17 Celebrations
...Cupcake Craft Challenges #95 One for the Boys
....Incy Wincy Designs #45 One for the Guys
.....A Crafty Little Place #43 One for the Boys

Summer Time Garden

The pretty image for this card was a freebie from Karen's Doodles sometime ago, and is being entered into their Summertime challenge. Painted with watercolours, I gave it colours I find in my garden. Eyelets and white ribbon have been used to fasten the image and mat, while burgundy ribbon has been threaded through the punched border at the bottom of the card. Additional white flowers, accented with glitter add further dimension and continue the theme.

Wish Pickle

This little image was provided as a freebie for Bella Studio's First Digi Challenge! Water colours and ink were used for painting the image, and stickles were used to accentuate the wings and flowers. Embellishments were made using my Silouette cutting machine, then inked or coloured with more glitter. The flower petals were punched to give them a different look, and finally a shimmery ribbon was added and tied into a bow. The background uses a vellum print that I have had around for ages...

This was also entered into these challenges:
..#17 Sparkle, Glitter, Bling at Meljen's Designs
...#23 Glitz & Glitter at Prairy Fairy
....Happy Somethings at Stamp Something

Free Stamp of the Month

Good news! Everyone who takes part in the monthly challange at Delightful Inspiration. See their website for details. It sounds like fun!

This card follows sketch #54 provided by 2 Sketches 4 You, although I did deviate a bit with my ribbon. The materials used, I had for ages.... If you note the butterfly, it makes use of the background paper in its design.

Something old........something new

This card is for my niece, a soon to be June bride! The image,"Bunny Love" a previous freebie from Meljen's Designs, was coloured with chalks and detailed with glitter pen . This gives the soft colouring which blends well with the pink and silver of the card. The patterned layer is dry embossed first, using an embossing folder, then heat embossed using a silver tinsel powder. I used a corner punch on the pink cardstock to frame this layer. Flowers made on my Silhouette, along with pearls and and a silver border add the extra dimension.

Challenges entered:
..Dry Embossing (#10) at Meljen's Designs

....Dazzle Us (#94) at Cupcake Craft Challenge

Day 4 - Anniversary Relay

Whew! I did it. This is the 4th and final project for the Sassy Studio relay. This is their "Sassy Hatter" image, which I coloured with watercolours and stickles. I used sketch SSS58 from The Sweet Shop, and I will be submitting to their challenge also.
