An Easter Challenge

Good morning everyone.  I just realized that I hadn't done my post for today's challenge at Charisma Cardz, so I am a wee bit late and I'll make this a quick one.  Today we are looking for Easter projects, and I made a bookmark for my granddaughter.

Here I have used an image from Crafty Sentiments, called Toby in bag.  It was a freebie image given out last year, and I like how I was able to use so many bright spring colours.   It's coloured with copics, cut out with a Nestie die and then edged with stickles.  I've used a MS punch for the lace edge, and minimal embellishments.....as they would not likely stand up to much use.

This week's generous sponsors are:

Spring stamping..

Good morning everyone.  Spring is definitely here now....it's raining!  I'm sure we are needing it, as the winter provided hardly any snow, and I would much rather have the rain.  We've been rather spoiled this winter, and that gave me one less thing to worry about.

Today's card is a quickie......as you can see there is no colouring.  I found some pretty scrapbook paper in my stash, added some different stamps that I haven't used for a while and remembered some butterflies that I had cut out many moons ago.  Makes for a pretty card that will slip easily into the mail, and it didn't take me half a day to finish!

Stamps used:
BoHoBlossoms from My Favourite Things,
and Flourishes V2 from Stampology.

Summer's coming....or maybe it's here!

Welcome to another beautiful day!  Our daytime temperatures are going to be in the 70's again today.....unbelievable for March, but I'll take it.  We had a dream winter this year, with hardly any snow or really cold temperatures.  I'm sure it's because I bought snow tires this year, and a bag of salt to put by the front door.  It must work like insurance, or preventative medicine.

So how about a card that fits the weather?  This is an image from The Stamping Bazaar, and a great image for a little guy.  I've kept it very simple with no extra embellishments, just some stickles and layering with my Nestie Labels Eight die.  The middle layer uses the same paper as the background, but I added some distress inks to give it an watery look.

Thanks for visiting, and with luck you are having some great weather too!  Enjoy!

Spring Cleaning

Well, I'm not too sure that I'm looking forward to weekends anymore!  That seems to be when everything goes wrong.  This past weekend, both my husband and my father were admitted to different hospitals, so there's not much mojo for crafting.  This card is for my Mom......I know what she is going through, so I wanted to send her a little cheering up, and a gentle reminder.....

My original intent was just to make a funny card, but then after going through my papers I thought I'd change it up a bit and add a vintage touch.  The image is actually a halloween image (Clean Sweep) from Just Inklined, but for me it brought to mind....spring cleaning!    I've coloured with copics, then given everything a distressed look with DI's, adding some doilies and flowers for a soft feminine feel.

Supplies used:
Papers from the Prima Printery collection
Nestibilities dies - Labels Twenty and Large Labels
Corner flourish stamp from Stämpelkällan
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts

Some fun challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - #64 Time
Saturday Challenge - #177 Doilies are not just for cakes
Creative Card Crew - #6 Vintage
Totally Gorjuss - #123 Spring
Love to Create - #7 Anything Goes

Little Brown Bag......

Well it was, until I altered it for the new challenge this week at Charisma Cardz!  Lots of inspiration to be found with the DT's creations, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you can come up with.  New ideas are always welcome! (lol)

You may recall that I made a few of these up for Christmas, and they really simplified my gift wrapping.  So I think it is time to make a few more!  Just a brown paper bag, and a few papers.....and then you dress it up with stamps or whatever your heart desires.

I've done up the back a bit too, but only with the stamps....leaving them with just the black outline.    The stamps used are from the Penny Black Touch of Whimsey collection.  Ideal for a nice spring or Easter project.  If you look closely, you will see that both the flower and the bunny have been coloured and cut out of plain white card stock, then attached with foam tabs for a bit of dimension.

Tools used:  Spellbinders Labels Twenty and Fancy Tags Three.

Now for the exciting info on our wonderful sponsor:

One lucky winner will receive 4 stamps or 1 stamp set.

Wishful Thinking

Welcome to the weekend!  Mother Nature is being quite the tease....one day it feels like spring, the next we get a covering of snow.  It's definitely not time yet for gardening, but I am hoping for an early spring....

Would you believe, I actually have a little garden cart similar to this that my husband made?  Last year was a little too hectic so it didn't get planted, but hopefully this year....  This is one of the newer images from Just Inklined, called Gardeners Delight, perfect for someone who enjoys their garden.....if not the work!   I've given it a bit of vintage feel with the doily and the distress inks, and for the very first time....I've made a double bow!

Supplies used:
Papers from Basic Grey - Sweet Threads pad
Nestibilities Labels Eighteen Die
Corner Flourish Stamp from Stämpelkällan

It's Spring Time....

Oh, what a beautiful day!  The sun is shining and we are to reach 12°C or 53°F today.....and hopefully we are heading out for a while!  This is unbelievable for this time of year, but I'll take it, and more please!

Today's card is for Easter....I think this sweet little image (Chickies) from Mo Manning is very appropriate, with the little baby chicks.  I've added a stenciled border for some extra interest....what can I say, I love to doodle!  The shape behind the image was cut on my silhouette, and the one behind that with my Nestie die.  I've even used some buttons!

If the sun is shining where you are....take time to enjoy it!

Stenciled Doily

Yesterday's weather was so wild and windy that I simply hid away in my craft room.  It brought to mind the story of the 3 Little Pigs.....and I was very glad to be living in a house made of bricks!  So, first I did some badly needed tidying, but than I actually made a card that wasn't for a DT.

This is one of my new Saturated Canary images, and I've found a few challenges to play along with.  I needed to use a doily, but of course I've gone the long road around....making mine with a stencil on a pretty DP from Wild Rose Studio!  You will see it's been made with glitter pen, then gussied up with clear gems and DI.  The card blank is embossed with polka dots, sponged first with DI (iced spruce), and then with gesso for a nice soft effect.  Oh, and the sentiment is a freebie from Netty's Cards, while the flowers are from my stash.

We are heading out today, to meet up with my girls for coffee!  Hopefully the weather behaves.  Be sure to come back tomorrow, when I'll have a post for the Just Inklined blog hop!

Masking at Charisma Cardz

Good morning all!  It's time for another exciting challenge at Charisma, and this week we want see projects using the masking technique.  To be sure, this had me adjusting my thinking cap, but it was a lot of fun and I'm really quite pleased with the result.

For my card, I've played with the Silver Fairy image (from Wee Stamps), and then I over-stamped the grasses using a stamp from Stämpelkällan.  I've coloured with copics and pencils, choosing some nice soft colours for spring.  The pretty DP is from Echo Park, and I've edged it all with silver peel-offs to coordinate with the silver glitter paper.  The sentiment and the leaf/vines die cuts are both from Whimsy Stamps, and would you believe I won them along with the fairy image?........thanks so much Jacques!

Once again, we have some wonderful sponsors and some lovely prizes!
