Finally...last minute again!

Nothing like leaving it until the last minute....but I'm finally ready for when Google reader ends!

Thanks for summer...

Here's to the weekend, which looks like it will be nice after all, as the sun is peeking out.  Hopefully yours will be the same.  Just a quick post today with another card I made up for a grandchild to give to her teacher.  As she is an avid reader, I thought this image worked great  I don't think she'd like to share her space with a mouse though, but on a card....perfect!

Once again I kept it nice and simple, though I did have a play with some embossing and distressing.  The image is another cutie from Meljen's Designs, and I've coloured with copics once again.  I finally made use of the pretty craft tape that I purchased last year, which to my surprise is actually fabric.  A Spellbinders die to cut out and mat the image, some rub-ons for the sentiment and some paper candi pieces to finish it off.

Some fun challenges for me to enter:

Polka Doodles - #26 Animals

Summer Daze

I'm not sure where the time goes, but it's Thursday again and time for another challenge at Charisma Cardz.  This week the theme is 3-2-1, a recipe, where you use 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else.  We are hoping you get a chance to play along and have a little fun!

Now this is my idea of summer....pretty flowers, a good book and a spot of cool shade.  This pretty image has been coloured with copics and can be found here, at the Paper Shelter.  I've used chalk to create the sky and clouds, and a bit of DI for the edging.

As you can see.....I've used 3 flowers, 2 corner punches and 1 ribbon.  For the finishing touches there's a bit of faux stitching and DI, some liquid pearls, and of course it wouldn't be summer without a butterfly!

For this week's challenge, we'd like to welcome

who are providing the lucky winner with their choice of 6 digi images!

We do hope you get the chance to join in the challenge this week, but at least be sure to stop by the challenge and check out all of the lovely creations from the rest of the DT.   Enjoy your day!

Stepping Out

So, summer is finally here and we can look forward to sunny days, thunderstorms and whatever else Mother Nature wants to throw at us!  I'm definitely hoping this summer is a little cooler than last year, as I'm not a big fan of the heat and humidity.  Thankfully my craft room is nice and cool!

So what do you think?  A birthday card for someone turning 35 this year.  This sooooo elegant Fashion Shoe image from Just Inklined is sure to make her kick up her heels and celebrate....while she still can!  Mostly flats and sneakers for me these days....

I've coloured with copics, adding some glitter trim, then used an oval die and the 'out of the box' technique.  Some more dazzle with some silver glitter paper and the Spellbinder's Floral Ovals die.

The papers are a new purchase from Bo Bunny's Serenade collection...very lush!  Some peel off stickers and some bling for the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by, of course now you maybe want to go shopping....in your dreams!

Keep on Smiling

Good morning everyone!  I'm sure not everyone was happy, but I was quite pleased with the rain we had yesterday.  It meant I didn't have to drag the hose down to my garden, and I could enjoy a day of crafting.  Today I'll maybe go take a peek, but the weeds can wait another day!

Today's card is for my daughter, who underwent some surgery last week on her shoulder.  Nice and summery, with a little something inside to perk her up...may go for some ice cream?  This image was a freebie last week from Crafty Sentiments, and will soon be available for purchase.  I used copics and coloured pencils, teaming it up with some delicious paper from MME.

Finally remembered I had some corner punches buried away, and these flowers too were hiding...just waiting for a rainy day I guess!

So keep on smiling, it makes every day sunny....and thanks for visiting.

Moving on Out of Here...

Here in Canada, school isn't finished until the end of the month....lucky for me, as I promised some thank you cards for the teachers.  This one is for my granddaughter's gym teacher as she's quite the little athlete...not sure where those genes came from!

I'm trying to keep them clean and simple, with a nice youthful feel.  This is one of Meljen's images, called Speedy Hare, and he's right on the mark!  Now I just need to get up to speed and make 3 more...

Just Pondering...

Well, I spoke too soon.  Yesterday was beautiful, so of course I expected it to last for Father's Day....I was so wrong!  Today it is raining, but I'm not complaining, as it will keep me away from working in the garden.  Today I'll be doing lunch with my Mom and Dad, and dinner with my daughter.  Sounds like a good day!

This is my DT card for Just Inklined, and this image, 'The Good Life' is so appropriate for my Dad.  He's at that point in life where he is often nodding off, but of course he isn't sleeping....only pondering!

I've tried to keep this simple, colouring with copics and luckily finding some papers to match.  I still do my colouring first, then look for papers.  If you look closely you will find a few pesky bugs (rub-ons) which just seemed to fit the scene.

Hope you all have a good one, this Father's Day, rain or shine.

Thank Heaven 4 Little Boys

By the time I get this written up, it will almost be Father's Day here in my neck of the woods, and what lovely weather we are having too!  I do hope the rest of you are so lucky.  My card today is for a little boy, and doesn't he look an angel...I'm sure he wouldn't dig holes in my lawn looking for worms!  Quite the surprise today...I thought they'd been digging in the tall grass, not the lawn.  Grandsons, you gotta love them!

Here I've had a go with the Edwin with Butterfly stamp from Magnolia, and for a change I've coloured with Tombow water colour markers.  You will see that I've stamped a grassy background, and found a good use for some rub-ons that I've had hidden away.  It's amazing what you can find when you have a good look through your stash!

Thanks so much for visiting, and have yourselves a wonderful weekend!

Pretty Feline Birthday Card

Hello again.  It's time for a new challenge at Charisma Cardz
and this week the theme is to be 'Digital Stamps.'

For my card, I've used my copics again to colour up this adorable image from Pink Cat Studio, one of our generous sponsors.  Lots of pink today, and polka dots too.  The papers are all from my stash, while the flower is a download from Fred She Said.

A Spellbinder's Edgeability die gave me the fancy edging, and then a bit of faux stitching.  A few die cuts add a bit more interest, and I've listed them below.

Other dies used:
Impression Obsession - Fence die
Whimsy - Vines and Birthday Sentimentables

 Our Sponsors this week are:

Romantic Setting

I do hope everyone is safe and sound this weekend....hopefully no freaky storms.  We are experiencing a lot of cloud, and it's a bit undecided as to whether it wants to rain or not, so I'm taking it as a non-gardening day!  Taking a wee rest...just looking for any excuse.

For today's card, I had some fun with this adorable Crystal Chandelier image from Just Inklined.  I thought it well suited for an anniversary card, with lots of added sparkle and glitter.   Brings to mind a nice romantic dinner with soft lighting and a glass of wine....

I actually followed a sketch for this one, something I rarely do.  Those pretty flowers are made with a new die that I just purchased, and some handmade paper that I've had for ages.

The sentiment is stamped and then cut around, before adhering it to a black cardstock which is then trimmed to provide a shadow backing.  Lots of fussy cutting but I like the effect.

Other supplies used:
Basic Grey papers from the Euphoria Collection
Martha Stewart - Doily Lace punch
Spellbinders - Labels Twenty Two die
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Bunch of Flowers 2 die

I hope you liked my card and enjoyed your visit, and here's wishing you a wonderful day!

CAS Masculine Card

Hi there.  We're having a rainy day today, so I'm having a well deserved break from gardening!  Spring is definitely moving right along.  My flowering bushes are all in their glory, but I also have an abundant crop of weeds in my flower gardens.  A lot of work is needed this year, but it will be worth it, I'm sure.  I'm just thankful that the hot summer temperatures are holding off.

Now for my card today, which uses a number of Tim Holtz rubber stamps and some distress inks.  I think of this as CAS, however, as it is not my normal type of design, I'm not too sure if I would call it simple.  My cards always take me longer to think out than to actually do.

I made this one up while having a play at my daughter's house.  It's always such fun to share ideas, and stamps and other goodies too!

Now I intend to have some fun in my craft room,...oh the joy of a rainy day!  Hope you have a fun day too!

June Blog Hop at Just Inklined

It's hard to believe another month has gone by, but here we are again with this month's blog hop at Just Inklined!  This month we have a Birthday theme, as chosen by our lovely hostess....Tammy!  Here is the order of the hop from start to finish...it works just like a GPS (lol) so you don't get lost and won't miss anything!

Tammy, Tangii, Jak, Lori, Karen L., Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn

Remember to leave your comments along the way, for your chance at one of the two spot prizes.   Now, just put your feet up and enjoy the hop!

I've gone with a vintage look today, having a go with another of the beautiful images on the Best of Just Inklined 2012 CD ROM.  This one is called 'Afternoon Drive', and I am sure that is a country pub in the background. Could you really think of a better place to celebrate a birthday?

Once again I have coloured with copics, pairing it up with some papers from Prima's Printery collection, some pearls and gold pen, plus some die cuts and DI.

Thanks for stopping by, and as indicated above....your next stop will be Gaynor, who is sure to have something wonderful to share.

A few challenges for my card:

Totally Papercrafts - #169 Anything Goes
ABC Challenge - O for Open
Crafty Friends - #1 Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Add a die cut
Crafting When We Can - #45 Punches and/or die cuts
