A Monochrome Christmas card

Good morning folks.  Now, I do realize Christmas is over, but winter definitely isn't.  It looks like our bit of milder weather is done with, and therefore my ice is here to stay.  Although our temps will be staying below freezing, hopefully we won't go back into a real deep freeze.  I've heard that in England the gardens are rather lush as a result of all the rain....but very soggy.  There's nothing lush or soggy out of my window....just ice and snow with a few dark bare patches.   And then, Australia is in a heat wave.  Too bad we can't climate share!

This was the last Christmas card I made for the season, and I used the Collage Merry Christmas stamp from Hero Arts.  I've stamped then heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then further dressed it up with distress ink.

The papers are from the MME Lost & Found Christmas collection, and I've added various gold accents with peel-off borders and stars, metallic pen and pearls.  The die cut snowflake also has some gold accents along with a glitter filled centre.  Lots of sparkle and shine!

Take care everyone, and if you could shoo some warm breezes this way, it would be much appreciated!  I'm heading to the stores shortly, to buy more salt.  I have to be prepared, but it sure would be nice if it wasn't needed!  (Update - no salt is available for purchase!!!)  Thanks again for visiting.

  3. This is beautiful Joyce. Hope it heats up for you soon. We have been having milder weather in the UK, but verrrrry wet. Don't know if it is due to last but I hope it does. Its the first winter ever that I have poppies in the garden in January. I still have some sad little roses on the bush and we have daisies in the sodden grass, a very strange winter.

  5. I was really hoping for a long warming trend but I guess we're out of luck! Instead of using salt, use plain kitty litter. It wouldn't help with melting but helps with the slip fall factor and is not harmful to lawns or paving.

Your card is gorgeous and the colors are so pretty! The snowflake is the perfect touch!

  10. Ha, ha! I love your idea about climate sharing! That would be ideal! I just shoveled about two feet of snow off my driveway, so I'd be glad to share with someone in Hawaii right about now! Anyway, I did enjoy your write-up and of course, I adore your card! This is such a beautiful blend of colors and the texture you created with the embossing and the ribbon and snowflake is incredible! So many clever elements here and you've put them together in a remarkable way. I'm so glad that you shared your talents with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!
