A Garden of Green...

It's hard to believe that it's Wednesday already....and July is almost half over!  My gardens have taken a beating this year.  First they were late getting in, then the lack of rain, and now something has been having a real feast on my Asian lilies!  Although a little orange bug may be the culprit, I'm leaning towards birds or chipmunks.  One week they are loaded with buds and then a few days later....no buds, and now of course, no flowers!   I do have other flowers, but in truth, at the moment I have an awful lot of green.....

Hence, the colours in this card.  I've used a different technique here....one that I found in a magazine a long while ago.  The stamping is done on glossy card stock, but first I scored the card in a tile pattern.  Then, the floral background image is stamped with black ink, and coloured in with green distress inks.  If some of your colour seeps into the recessed score lines, simply touch up with white pen.  The stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms, which has gone out of business....but I understand the images have been sold and may be 're-born'.

The black panel underneath was made with a MS punch, and the butterfly was cut on my Silhouette.  Just a flower to match the yellow mat, and a tag to finish it off.

This was very simple and fun to make.  Why don't you give it a try?

Now for some challenges, (some of which are looking for something you might find in the garden...if you are lucky!)
