Lavender and Lace Blog Hop

Good morning fellow bloggers!  It's that time again, for another exciting blog hop at Just Inklined.  This month, Gaynor is our talented hostess, with the challenge theme....Lavender and Lace.  So we are in for a bit of a change from the traditional colours for this time of year, as the DT share their lovely creations.  Be sure to follow along, leaving comments along the way, for your chance to win one of the spotlight prizes of a free image.  Here is the blog order...just in case you go astray.

Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn, Tammy, Jak, Lori, Karen L., Joyce (that's me)

This sweet image is titled Batchelors Button, and was a dream to colour with a combo of pencils and markers and a touch of added sparkle.  As you may notice, I've cut it out with a circle die and the 'Out of the box' technique.  I find these floral images are very well suited to Sympathy/Thinking of You cards, and of course they fit perfectly into a lacy theme.

Favourite Colour - Blog Hop

Hello again!  It's now November, and time for another Blog Hop at Just Inklined.  I am the hostess this time around, so the hop starts with me....and I chose the theme of Favourite Colour.  I can't wait to see what everyone has made!

The blog hop order is as follows, and be sure to leave your comments along the way for your chance to win one of the 2 spot prizes.

Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn, Tammy, Tangii, Jak, Lori, Karen L.

Now, because Christmas is on it's way, I've decided that my favourite colour today is Red....I have way more than one favourite, so it was a difficult choice.

I've tried for a bit of a vintage feel, with this gorgeous image titled Christmas Boot (lady).  Doesn't it look fantastic in red....makes you want to go out and buy a pair.  Alas, I think I had best settle for just the bottle of bubbly, as my vintage feet can't wear those heels anymore. (sigh)

I've used an oval die to cut out the image, and the Spellbinders Floral Oval die to make the mat.  Both have been treated to some Inca Gold paint, to make them more festive.  The pretty DP is from MME and the Holly Branch is from Sweet Stamps.  Just a few red pearls and a sentiment to finish it off.

Time to put your feet up now and continue along the hop...it's sure to be a treat!  Thanks for visiting, and good luck in the draw.

Some fun challenges for my card:

It's time for another blog hop at Just Inklined!   This month our theme is Christmas, so you are definitely in for a treat as you follow along.  There are so many new images to choose from, and of course, so many tried and true from prior years.  Put your feet up and enjoy!

Blog Hop order
Karen L., Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn, Tammy, Tangii, Jak

Be sure to leave your comments, for your chance to win one of the two spot prizes!

I couldn't resist this one, and you can find it here!  After his busy night, and a job well done, I really think Santa is deserving of a wee tipple when he gets home. Nice and easy to colour, with all of that white, so I gave a bit of yellow glow to the background.  Papers are from MME, and I added some names to a list so that Santa doesn't miss these very important little ones!

I hope you enjoy the hop and find lots of inspiration to get cracking on those Christmas cards!

Just Inklined September Blog Hop

Good morning!  It's that time again, for another excursion in creativity....in other words, this month's blog hop at Just Inklined.  This month we are showcasing some of the newest Christmas images, using the theme that will make you smile 'A Blingy Christmas'.

Don't forget to leave your comments along the way, for your chance at one of the two spotprizes.  Our hostess this month is the very talented Lori, which is where the hop begins.  I've listed the participents names and links below.....wouldn't want you to miss anything!

Lori, Karen L., Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Dawn, Tammy, Tangii, Jak

Well, what do you think so far?  Aren't these images wonderful?  And there is still lots of time to get them made up before Christmas.  This one is called Myrrh, and it was a delight to colour up using copics and a bit of pencil, with some DI for around the edges.

The papers are from the Melissa Frances - Home for the Holidays collection, and the blue cardstock is actually kraft...inked up with DI to give me the colour I wanted.  You'll see some gold peel-offs, pearls and glitter paper, plus a chipboard star which I embossed and then painted with gold.

The sentiment is a stamp from Lizzie Anne, called Holiday Season, but I only used the last part of it.

I do hope you enjoyed your visit, and all your stops along the way.  Here's wishing you a wonderful crafty day!

Just Inklined to Hop....

Good morning fellow bloggers!  It's the first Monday in August already...where has the summer gone, but it's also time for another blog hop at Just Inklined.   This month, Jak is our lovely hostess and she has chosen a Monotone Theme.  Just to make sure that you don't miss any of the stops and the wonderful DT creations, I have listed the order below.

Jak, Lori, Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn, Tammy, Tangii

And be sure to leave your comments along the way, for your chance to win one of the mystery spot prizes!

I must admit I like to see a bit of humour in a birthday card....at least for the ones that I give. (lol)  This is one of the newer images, titled Weighty Wendy, isn't she a hoot!  Just a simple birthday message for the outside, but I'll be sure to find something cheeky for inside.

She was nice and easy to colour up, and I've gone again with the 'out of the box technique' using my Spellbinder's Labels Twenty Two die.  I've traced the inner edges of the die to create the borders.  The coordinating papers are from the MME, and the flowers are handmade.   A doodled border and a couple of die-cut corners finishes it off and pulls it all together.

I do hope you enjoyed your visit, with both me and my creative teamies, and if you are so inklined....have a good day at the gym!  (ha ha)

Stars, Rhinestones & Twine

Wow!  It's July 1st already.....a holiday here for us, as we celebrate Canada Day.  I'm not sure if it will be rain or shine, but the temperatures are good....not too hot.   It's also time for the next blog hop at Just Inklined, so take a small break and have a peek at what the DT is sharing this month.

Tangii is our lovely hostess this month, with the theme of  Stars, Rhinestones & Twine, and I'll start by giving you the blog hop order.

Tangii, Jak, Lori, Karen L., Joyce (that's me), Gaynor, Karen J., Dawn, Tammy

Be sure to leave your comments at each stop, for your chance to win one of the mystery spot prizes.

Here I had a play with one of the new summer images, titled Seaside Anchor.  I've coloured it all with copics, giving it a darker sky for a bit of mystery.  For me, it brings to mind...buried treasure, so that's where you'll find some tiny gems.

No fancy papers on this one, but a number of die cuts coloured with DI's, and then some doodling.  My first time for making that squiggly border, and it's not quite as simple as it seems.  Thankfully I used pencil to start, as it took me two tries!

Supplies used:
Spellbinders die - Star Circles
Cheery Lynn die - Ankara Lace
Whimsy - Corner die

I do hope you enjoyed your visit, and all your other stops along the way!   Take care now, and enjoy your day!

Say It With Flowers

Ta dah...we've made it to April!  Surely spring will be along soon, and we have just the theme to whet your appetite with today's blog hop at Just Inklined.    Karen J is our lovely hostess this month,  starting  off the hop and choosing the theme 'Say it with Flowers'.

If you have arrived here from Karen L's blog, then you're on the right track, otherwise you may want to start at the beginning...it would be such a shame to miss anything.  Don't forget to leave your comments, to be in the running for one of our spot prizes!

So how about some pretty crocus, generally the first flower to show itself in my garden.  This image is sure to brighten your day, and can be found here for purchase and download.

I've gone with my copics once again, cutting and matting with my Spellbinders Labels Two die.  The dp is from the GCD Studios Ella Blue collection, and I've used Idea-Ology Tissue Tape for the top and bottom of the card.  All accents are cut from a purple glitter paper.  The butterflies use a Cheery Lynn die, and I've backed these with vellum.  The sentiment uses a Whimsy die, which I have mounted on white and then dark brown for a shadow effect.

Well, I do hope I've given you a taste of spring, and now you need to head on over to Gaynor's blog to see what wonderful creation she has to share.

Thanks so much for visiting and have a wonderful day!

And now a few challenges for my card:

March Blog Hop at Just Inklined

Can you believe it is March already!  Hopefully winter will soon be done with, and the white stuff will all go away.  In the meantime, get yourself comfortable and take a virtual hop down the Just Inklined lane!  This month, Gaynor is our lovely hostess...with the theme Die Cuts and Pearls, and that's where the fun begins.  If you've arrived here from Karen L's blog, then you are on the right track, otherwise you may want to start back at the beginning, and don't forget to leave comments along the way, for your chance to win one of the two spot prizes!

The Hibiscus....such a beautiful flower, but not hardy enough for our winters....though I did try!  I'll have to be content with this lovely image, which can be purchased and downloaded here.  My copics worked their magic again, with some liquid pearls for the stamens.  I've paired it up with this pretty paper from the Prima - Fairy Flora collection, and if you look closely, you will see that I heat embossed a script stamp on the matting using gold embossing powder.  I found some gold metallic paper for the butterflies to go with the corner piece.  Doesn't it all look so warm and sunny?

Tools used:
Martha Stewart punch - Zig Zag edger
Spellbinders die - Labels Two
Cheery Lynn die - small Exotic Butterfly

Well, as I am the last one on this hop, I do hope you had a grand time and found some new ideas.  Now you just need to find some time to get crafty.  Have a wonderful day!

Good morning all!  It will probably be another cold and dreary winter's day, but we are going to try and brighten it up for you.  As it is the first Monday of the month, we have another blog hop at Just Inklined.  As I am the hostess this month, I get to choose the theme...and I've chosen the 'out of the box technique', a definite favourite of mine.  So, get yourselves comfortable and enjoy...as you follow along the hop.  Be sure to leave your comments along the way, for your chance to win one of the spot prizes.

It's hard to believe that we are already in February, but hopefully that means spring is just around the corner....and that will mean gardening.  For my card today I've used the Pot Pourri Garden image, and you will see that the apron extends outside of the die cut.  Once again I've coloured with copics, adding DI to all edges to give it a vintage feel.
