You'd better watch out...

Early to bed, therefore early to rise....this gives me time for another post.   I'm sure there are a few of you out there still working on Christmas cards, so here is an idea for a quick and easy one.

I tend to colour my images well before I make I make a card, so this one was very quck.  Just some washi tape and some rub-on wording.  The sweet image from The Paper Shelter was coloured with markers, with liquid applique for dimension on his suit.  A bit of gold edging before afixing to the card, and then a frame border made by tracing a Spellbinders die.

I'm almost caught up now, and don't intend to brave the cold today.  I can find lots to do inside, and I'm sure I won't have to look too hard!  lol   I like to take heart in the fact that yesterday was the actual first day of winter, so now we are on the way to spring....and I'll try not to look outside at all the snow!  Take care everyone.

Santa's Washing...

Hi again.  Just thought I would post this card while I'm waiting to see if the cloudy skies are going to produce rain.  I want to get out in the garden while the weather is still mild, so as to put the gardens all to bed....as we know quite well what is coming.

So, in keeping with a positive outlook....Christmas is coming.  We'll let the negatives slide for now, and here is a Christmas card with a lovely image from The Paper Shelter.  It's coloured with markers, with some liquid applique added for dimension.  An added sentiment, a Spellbinder's die and some gold metalic pen provide the finishing touch.

I've used a couple of Christmas DP from my stash, along with a MS punch for a lacy effect.  A bit of ribbon and 2 bits of  paper candi adds just a little embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by, and try to get out and enjoy some fall temperatures before the winter sets in.

Time for a cuppa...

Good morning everyone.  Looks like I'm getting a young visitor for the weekend.  One of my granddaughters.  I wonder what mischief we can get up to!  Whatever we do, it won't be outside in the heat...we're in a heat alert again and the humidity is awful!

When she was younger we would have a tea party, with fancy cups and saucers and her choice of tea pot from my collection.  This image from the Paper Shelter reminds me of those days.

I've coloured the image with markers, cutting it out and matting with Spellbinder dies.  The backing is embossed using a Spellbinder embossing folder and distress inks.  I've added a bit of sparkle to the butterfly and a fancy bow for embellishment.  No sentiment this time....as this card could be used for a number of different occasions.

So take it easy folks...stay hydrated.  A cup of tea may be just the ticket!

Is it coffee time yet?

Greetings!  Do we dare hope that spring has finally arrived...let's hope so!  Looking forward to seeing some green again soon.  That will mean some rainy days, and what better time to get some crafting in.  This week we have a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey, and this time the theme is FOR THAT SPECIAL LADY, and our wonderful sponsor is The Paper Shelter!  We do hope you can join in the challenge, and be sure to check out the creations from the rest of the DT.

Today I have used one of our sponsor's images, and this one is titled Coffee Break....what every Special Lady is waiting for!  I've used my copics once again, with quite a bit of pencil for the extra shadings.

The patterned paper is from MME, and I've cut some of the little squares to use as embellishment.  I'm not sure why, but it brings to mind a computer screen or program.

Other supplies used:
Spellbinders dies - Scalloped Labels One and Fancy Framed Tags
Verve Stamps sentiment - from Blue Skies collection

Here's wishing you all a wonderful day...and perhaps some sunshine!

Stuck on You

Hi there.  I'm back again, with my DT card for the new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey.  Our theme this time is "Love is in the air", and it is....with Valentines Day only a week away.

I've gone for a bit of humor with this cute image...'How You Doin', provided by our sponsor.  Sure to bring a chuckle, and perfect for someone who can be a bit prickly at times.  (lol)

I've set a goal for myself, to add some of my under-used stamps and images to my cards, and this time I have added the heart stamp to the background, from Stämpelkällan.  The DP is an oldie from Basic Grey, and as you can see, I have used two Spellbinders dies to cut and mat the image.

Hopefully you will get the chance to join in the challenge this fortnight, for your chance to win some lovely images from our sponsor...

Hugs and Kisses

Greetings everyone, from the frozen north.  Maybe today's card will warm things up!

Here we go with a Valentines card, using the cute Crocodile Love image from the Paper Shelter.  Coloured with copics, I've added a wee sparkle to the eyes and my sentiment among the hearts.

For the card background I've inked up these grasses from Stämpelkällan, and then found a piece of ribbon in my stash that kind of resembles water.

I can't say that I want to share space with a crocodile, but I would sure like to share some of that warmer weather!   Oh, if only wishes could come true!

Mmmmm...yes please!

Hello again.  Here I am with another of those little gift bags, using an inexpensive brown paper bag.  You can never have too many of these...and they can be re-gifted and used again.

For today's project I've used an image from The Paper Shelter (A Penguin In My Cocoa), and a sentiment stamp from Inkadinkado (Winter Trails).  I've again coloured with copics, adding a bit of glitter to the ribbon.  The sentiment has been heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and as you will notice, then edged with DI.

The image is cut out with the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and attached with foam tabs, positioned so that the top of the bag tucks in behind for closing.  Nice and easy!

The DP is an older one from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses line...a nice simple pattern to complement the busy image.  The red ribbon and added greenery gives just a bit of decoration to complete the festive look.

Hope you enjoyed your visit and can take away a few ideas.  Have a great day!

Summer Daze

I'm not sure where the time goes, but it's Thursday again and time for another challenge at Charisma Cardz.  This week the theme is 3-2-1, a recipe, where you use 3 of something, 2 of something and 1 of something else.  We are hoping you get a chance to play along and have a little fun!

Now this is my idea of summer....pretty flowers, a good book and a spot of cool shade.  This pretty image has been coloured with copics and can be found here, at the Paper Shelter.  I've used chalk to create the sky and clouds, and a bit of DI for the edging.

As you can see.....I've used 3 flowers, 2 corner punches and 1 ribbon.  For the finishing touches there's a bit of faux stitching and DI, some liquid pearls, and of course it wouldn't be summer without a butterfly!

For this week's challenge, we'd like to welcome

who are providing the lucky winner with their choice of 6 digi images!

We do hope you get the chance to join in the challenge this week, but at least be sure to stop by the challenge and check out all of the lovely creations from the rest of the DT.   Enjoy your day!

Sew Little Time....

Here's hoping today finds you safe and well, and may you find time to relax and unwind this weekend.  I find crafting does that for me, so long as Mr Mojo sticks around.

For my card today, I've played with the colour purple, using it for the image, the DP, and some of the cardstock die cuts.  My copics worked their magic on the image, and then I've used chalk to shade in the background.

To add to the sewing theme of the image, I made good use of a stitching stencil to add some faux stitching to the bottom of the card. The butterflies and corner dies have all been stamped with a bit of gold for added interest, while the white doily and floral die cut add a nice bit of contrast.

Supplies used:
Image from The Paper Shelter - Cute Dressmaker
Prima Paper - from the Fairy Flora collection
Cheery Lynn die - Exotic Butterfly Small
Whimsy die - Corner Dies set
Spellbinder die - Fantastic Flourish 1

Thanks for visiting, and may your day be beautiful and sunny!  (Wishful thinking)
